I love to hear about authors winning book awards, and think about how much work goes into staying relevant as an author. Book awards programs and competitions are not to be feared for even a nomination can be leveraged to an author’s advantage. Here are 10 really interesting awards programs that fit into non-traditional niches.

Their book awards are held annually, and contestants range from self-published and indie authors to New York Times bestsellers and celebrities. The award categories are gold, silver, and bronze, and they also hold an annual awards ceremony and banquet that the winners are invited to attend.

RITA Awards, Romance Writers Association. This national association of romance writers offers awards in a variety of romance novel categories.

There are so many book awards programs and competitions on the internet. You can go to Bookmarket.com to find more or you can even spend a few precious hours at your local library researching even more for your state, municipality or specialty. Don’t be afraid to nominate yourself or you can pay a publicist a fee to nominate you as an author and nominate your book where applicable.
