Travel around the Diaspora with a Book

It’s really easy to read only American authors, especially our favorites. What if I challenge you to read some women authors who represent the rest of the African diaspora?

If you decide to read any of these books, please tell us about them in the comment section. If you’ve read any one of them, I would love to know your thoughts.

  1. I loved So Long a Letter. I may have to go dig it out of the crates now that you mention it. The Joys of Motherhood would be a great addition to this list. Not only are the stories powerful and moving, but through the craft of the authors’ we learn about the economy of words. The right word in its place is worth more than ten thousand.
