National Nurses Week – Mona Clayton, R.N., BSN – CEO, Author, Motivational Speaker

Born in South Central Los Angeles, Mona Clayton RN, BSN graduated from Los Angeles Southwest College and started her nursing career almost 20 years ago. In 2007, Mona felt inspired to provide mentorship and assistance to minorities, single mothers, and individuals in underserved communities, who were seeking nursing careers. Her desire to help others served as the catalyst to open Nurses Roc 2 Publishing, and she published her first book, “From Student to Nurse: Surviving The Journey.”

She has recently launched the “Grow, Share, Inspire Campaign,” with her newly developed company, “Nurses 2 Rock Pub.”  Within the Pub, support services such as reading materials, a motivational T-shirt line, seminars, lectures, mentorship and human resource services are available. A new adventure, Ms. Clayton will be sharing her journalism talents and lending her expertise as a registered nurse for the “Carson Courier Community Newspaper.” She hopes that her column, “Welcome to the Pub With Nurse Mona” will serve as a vehicle for intriguing topics centered on health care and the nursing profession.

Ms. Clayton has a Bachelors degree from the University of Phoenix and is currently completing her Masters Degree in Education at Grand Canyon University. Ms. Clayton has one daughter whom recently completed her Master’s Degree as a Dance Movement Therapist at Pratt University in New York.
