20 Things to Do Before 2020

We want you to live your best life now. If you are a writer, want to be a writer or have some other goal you’d like to complete, we offer these 20 things to do before January 1, 2020. 

  1. Meditate and pray about the life you want to have. 
  2. Meditate and pray for direction on achieving that life. 
  3. Throw away 20 things that are useless. These are things that you would not give a soul. Throw them out.
  4. Give away 20 things that are useful to someone else. Around your home are 20 things you no longer need but could bless someone else. Give them away.
  5. Write a list of 20 places you want to visit in the next decade.
  6. Write a list of 20 people that you want the best for in the next decade. It can be longer than twenty people. 
  7. Write a list of 20 new things you want to try in the next decade. This list can be shorter. 
  8. If you have a Pinterest account, create a secret board, and pin 20 images that are motivational and aspirational such as a new house or a new car. Use it like a vision board. Have fun and you are not limited to 20 pins. 
  9. Make a list of 20 books you want to read in the coming year. 
  10. Contact at least 20 people who have been kind to you over the years. Contact them how you wish, but let them know.
  11. Write a list of 20 (or more) things you are grateful for in the past year and departing decade. 
  12. Find an exercise you can do for 20 minutes regularly like walking or dancing to favorite music or water exercises. Find that exercise and commit to it for 20 days. 
  13. Give yourself 20 minutes to clean a closet or set of drawers. Just do it. 
  14. Create a fantasy list of 20 people you would love to meet in the next decade, if not sooner.
  15. Create a list of things you would do to help someone else. 
  16. Watch a video or a series of videos that instructs you on a topic you want to learn more about such as writing or drawing or baking. Vimeo and YouTube have tons of instructional videos that are free. 
  17. Write a list of 20 things you like about you and your life. 
  18. Create one space in your living quarters that is just for you and just for doing absolutely nothing, sit there and do nothing. 
  19. Take a cozy nap by any means necessary. Give yourself permission to simply nap. 
  20. Write a love letter to yourself. You deserve to know you are loved.
